Two bikers killed in hit-and-run incidents
Two motorcyclists were killed after being hit by unidentified speeding vehicles in different areas of the city.
A biker, identified as 25-year-old Bilal was killed when an unidentified speeding vehicle hit him within the limits of the Shahrah-e-Noor Jahan police station.
The body of the victim was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. He was a resident of Metroville and originally belonged to Swat. Police are investigating and searching for the car and its driver who fled the scene after the accident. In another similar incident, a motorcyclist was killed when an unidentified vehicle hit the motorcycle he was riding near Azeempura graveyard in Shah Faisal Colony. Body of the deceased was shifted to Jinnah Hospital, where he was identified as 19-year-old Daulat Khan, son of Ahmad Gul.
The driver of the vehicle fled the scene after the accident, and police have launched efforts to trace and arrest the suspect.
Succumbs to injuries
A truck driver who was injured after his vehicle overturned near Razzaqabad police training centre, succumbed to his injuries during the treatment. The accident took place on Sunday afternoon in the Shah Latif area where a Mazda vehicle overturned, leaving the driver critically injured. The injured driver was shifted to Jinnah Hospital, where he died late at night while undergoing treatment.
The deceased was identified as 35-year-old Hamid, son of Rashid. He was a resident of Baldia Town.
Killer car traced
The police have traced the vehicle involved in an accident occurred on Sunday in Defence phase 7, where it hit and killed a motorcycle-riding food delivery worker. After the accident the driver had fled the scene. The deceased was identified as 25-year-old Zeeshan.
According to the police, raids are being conducted to arrest the driver, identified as Hamza. The vehicle involved in the accident has been recovered from a workshop near Hill Park on Tariq Road. Investigations revealed that Hamza works at the same workshop.
The car is registered in the name of Aamir Ali, who had sold it to Nisar Ahmed. Nisar had left the car at the workshop for repairs. Hamza allegedly took the vehicle and hit the motorcycle of the food rider.
Police also disclosed that the workshop's security guard is Hamza's brother, to whom Hamza handed over the car keys. He has been taken into custody.
