'Street Fighter' set for October release with Noah Centineo and Andrew Koji

New Street Fighter film will arrive in cinemas October 16 with cast led by Noah Centineo and Andrew Koji

Street Fighter is scheduled to arrive in cinemas on October 16, 2026, with Noah Centineo and Andrew Koji leading the cast in the latest live-action adaptation of the long-running video game franchise.

Directed by Kitao Sakurai, the film marks the third live-action adaptation based on Capcom’s fighting game series. Paramount Pictures will distribute the project following a deal with Legendary Pictures.

Koji will portray Ryu, while Centineo takes on the role of Ken Masters. The story follows the two fighters after Chun-Li, played by Callina Liang, recruits them for the World Warrior Tournament to confront M. Bison, portrayed by David Dastmalchian.

The supporting cast includes Jason Momoa as Blanka, Roman Reigns as Akuma, Cody Rhodes as Guile and 50 Cent as Balrog. Vidyut Jammwal will appear as Dhalsim, while Orville Peck has been cast as Vega.

Production began in Australia in August 2025 under the working title Punch and concluded in November 2025.

Cinematographer Ken Seng handled the martial arts sequences, while producers included Mary Parent, Cale Boyter, Jason Momoa, Takayuki Nakayama and Stefan Makhoul.

According to the official plot summary from Legendary Pictures, “Street Fighter's Ryu and Ken reunite when Chun-Li recruits them for the World Warrior Tournament. As they face a hidden conspiracy, they must confront each other.”

The film will be released in standard, RealD 3D and IMAX formats. It follows the 1994 Street Fighter adaptation starring Jean-Claude Van Damme and the 2009 film The Legend of Chun-Li.

Capcom’s involvement in production has led to discussion among fans about how closely the film will follow the original games and whether the adaptation can succeed with audiences when it arrives later this year.
