Bill Maher took aim at Donald Trump during the latest episode of Real Time with Bill Maher, joking that a newly surfaced note linked to Jeffrey Epstein sounded suspiciously like the president.

During his opening monologue, Maher discussed reports about a handwritten note connected to Epstein’s death and questioned its unusual wording and formatting. He pointed to the fact that the note was reportedly written in all capital letters and punctuated with multiple exclamation points, prompting him to ask the audience, “Who does that sound like?”

Maher then extended the joke by suggesting the note could have ended with the phrase, “Thank you for your attention to this matter,” a line he said echoed one of Trump’s familiar expressions. The audience responded with laughter as Maher leaned into the comparison.

The HBO host has long expressed skepticism about the official conclusion that Epstein died by suicide in federal custody in 2019. His latest remarks continued a recurring theme on Real Time, where he has frequently referenced conspiracy theories and public questions surrounding the financier’s death.

Maher’s comments also tapped into the long-scrutinised social relationship between Trump and Epstein, who were photographed together multiple times in the 1990s and early 2000s before reportedly falling out years later.

The joke quickly drew attention online, adding another chapter to Maher’s often combative commentary on Trump and the political figures he regularly satirises on his weekly HBO program.
