Nick Pasqual, an actor who appeared in How I Met Your Mother, has been found guilty of attempted murder and multiple other charges nearly two years after attacking his estranged girlfriend, Allie Shehorn, inside her home.

The 36-year-old was convicted Friday of attempted murder, first-degree residential burglary with a person present, and domestic violence-related charges. He now faces a possible life sentence, with sentencing set for a later date.

Prosecutors said Pasqual broke into Shehorn’s home in May 2024 despite an active restraining order. During the attack, Shehorn suffered multiple stab wounds and was left fighting for her life. After fleeing the scene, Pasqual allegedly attempted to escape to Mexico before authorities arrested him in Texas and returned him to California to face trial.

During court proceedings, Shehorn recounted the terrifying moments of the attack, describing how she tried to lock herself away before Pasqual forced his way inside. Her friend and roommate later found her critically injured and called for help, a move that authorities said likely saved her life.

Before the attack, Shehorn had already sought legal protection against Pasqual over previous alleged incidents earlier that year. Her survival and testimony became central to the case, as she continued to appear in court while recovering from life-altering injuries.

Although she has made significant progress, Shehorn has said she continues to live with lasting physical damage, including partial vision loss and reduced feeling in her hands. Despite that, she has remained determined to rebuild her life and hopes to return to her work as a makeup artist.

The verdict marks a major moment in a case that drew attention not only because of Pasqual’s acting credits, but because of the broader conversation it sparked about domestic violence, survival, and accountability.
