Christian broadcaster Joni Lamb has died at 65, with Daystar citing ongoing health challenges and back injury

Daystar Television Network co-founder and president Joni Lamb has died aged 65 following a decline in her health, the ministry confirmed.

In a statement released on Thursday, the Texas-based Christian broadcaster said Lamb had been facing serious private health challenges before a recent back injury worsened her condition.

The ministry said her health deteriorated in recent days despite medical care and prayers from supporters around the world.

“Joni’s love for the Lord and for the people we serve shaped this ministry from the beginning,” the Daystar Board of Directors said in a statement. “We grieve her loss, and we are grateful for the legacy of faith she leaves behind.”

Lamb co-founded Daystar Television Network with her late husband Marcus Lamb in 1993. Over the following three decades, the network grew into one of the world’s largest Christian television broadcasters, reaching audiences through cable, satellite and streaming platforms.

The ministry said Lamb had worked with the board to ensure an executive leadership structure was already in place so operations could continue without disruption.

Programming will continue as scheduled, with on-air tributes planned in the coming days.

The network added that memorial details would be announced later and asked supporters to respect the family’s privacy.

Following confirmation of her death, tributes from viewers, pastors and Christian media figures began circulating online, with many reflecting on Lamb’s decades-long role in religious broadcasting and ministry leadership.
