The 2026 Tony Awards nominations have officially been revealed, with standout musicals The Lost Boys and Schmigadoon! emerging as the biggest contenders in a competitive Broadway season.

Announced by Uzo Aduba and Darren Criss, the nominations for the 79th annual ceremony highlight a diverse mix of new productions and revivals across theater. The awards will take place on June 7 at Radio City Music Hall in New York City, hosted by Pink.

In the top categories, The Lost Boys, Schmigadoon!, Titaníque, and Two Strangers (Carry a Cake Across New York) are nominated for Best Musical, reflecting a strong year for original productions. Meanwhile, the Best Play category includes The Balusters, Giant, Liberation, and Little Bear Ridge Road, showcasing a mix of new writing and critically acclaimed works.

Revival categories also feature major titles, with productions like Death of a Salesman, Becky Shaw, and Oedipus competing for Best Revival of a Play, while Ragtime and The Rocky Horror Show are among the notable musical revivals.

The acting categories include a number of high-profile nominees. Daniel Radcliffe earned a nod for Every Brilliant Thing, while Nathan Lane and John Lithgow were recognized for their performances in Death of a Salesman and Giant, respectively. On the actress side, nominees include Rose Byrne for Fallen Angels, alongside Carrie Coon, Susannah Flood, and Lesley Manville.

Several milestones also emerged from this year’s nominations. Veteran actress June Squibb became the oldest acting nominee at age 96, while Danny Burstein set a record as the most-nominated male performer in Tony Awards history with his ninth nomination.

Despite the strong field, the nominations also came with notable snubs, including Lea Michele for Chess and Ayo Edebiri for Proof, both of whom had been widely predicted to earn recognition.

With a mix of blockbuster musicals, acclaimed plays, and record-breaking nominations, the 2026 Tony Awards are shaping up to be one of the most competitive in recent years, setting the stage for a closely watched ceremony celebrating the best of Broadway.
