David Kendall, a producer associated with the 1990s television series Boy Meets World, has died, according to a statement shared by former cast members.
His death was announced on May 2 through the Instagram account of the Pod Meets World podcast, hosted by Danielle Fishel, Ryder Strong and Will Friedle.
The statement highlighted Kendall’s role in supporting the hosts during their early careers and noted that they remained in contact with him after the show concluded.
“We are devastated to lose such an important person in our lives, both professionally and personally,” the post read. “We have lost a vital piece of our family − but we ask that the next time you watch the show, especially Seasons 2 & 3 (when he served as Showrunner), you think of our beloved Kendall.”
Kendall was credited with contributing to multiple aspects of television production, including directing, writing and executive producing. According to the post, his work extended beyond Boy Meets World, with involvement in other series such as Growing Pains and Hannah Montana.
Industry listings also show Kendall as a director on episodes of Victorious and Big Time Rush. His work across these programmes placed him among figures involved in shaping several television sitcoms across different decades.
No cause of death has been provided. Representatives for Kendall had not issued a further statement at the time of publication.
The announcement has prompted responses from colleagues and audiences familiar with his work, particularly those connected to Boy Meets World and its legacy.
