KARACHI:

Burglars broke into a jewellery shop on Zaiba-un-Nisa Street in Saddar after cutting the shutter and stole a safe containing gold jewellery worth millions of rupees.

CCTV footage from cameras installed outside the shop has surfaced, showing the suspects arriving with iron rods and cutting tools, carrying out the robbery, and later fleeing with the safe.

Police have taken a watchman into custody for questioning and launched an investigation. Meanwhile, Sindh Home Minister Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar has taken notice of the incident and sought a detailed report from the DIG south.

The incident occurred within the jurisdiction of Preedy police station at around 4:40am, while police were informed by a bazaar watchman at approximately 5:15am. SHO Preedy Ayub Mirani said the robbery was carried out by two suspects riding a motorcycle.

The suspects allegedly cut the shutter and entered the shop. The suspects also took the shop's locks with them.
