Margaret Colin says she 'lucked out' working with Leighton Meester on Gossip Girl
Colin also spoke positively about her other co-stars, including Blake Lively, describing her as kind and sweet

Margaret Colin is looking back fondly on her time on Gossip Girl, especially when it comes to her on-screen relationship with Leighton Meester.
In a recent interview, Colin, who played Eleanor Waldorf on the hit CW series, praised Meester, calling her a “delightful young woman” and reflecting warmly on their time working together. “I loved working with Leighton… I had a great time with her,” Colin shared, adding, “I lucked out.”
The actress noted that their on-screen mother-daughter dynamic evolved over the course of the show, shifting from tension to a more layered and authentic relationship, something she credited to the time they spent working closely together.
Colin also spoke positively about her other co-stars, including Blake Lively, describing her as kind and sweet, and recalled fun moments working with Wallace Shawn on set.
Now 67, Colin continues her career on stage, currently starring in the Broadway production The Balusters, as she reflects on the lasting impact of her time on one of television’s most iconic teen dramas.
