Prediction market Polymarket has become the latest battleground for “Euphoria” fan theories, with bettors now placing Zendaya’s character Rue Bennett at 68% odds of dying in the season three finale .

The market, titled “Who will die in Euphoria: Season 3?”, has drawn significant trading volume as the HBO series approaches its May 31 finale. While Nate Jacobs, played by Jacob Elordi, was the frontrunner at 87% probability heading into the penultimate episode, those odds are now moot—Nate was killed off in Episode 7, buried alive in a coffin before a rattlesnake slithered down his air pipe and bit him .

Rue’s odds have climbed following a terrifying cliffhanger in episode five. That episode ended with Rue buried neck-deep in dirt as crime lord Alamo Brown charged toward her on horseback with a polo mallet—one of the show’s most harrowing moments to date . For the market to resolve as “Yes” on a character’s death, the show must depict the death on-screen or have it explicitly confirmed through dialogue, with permanent death required—revivals or resurrections do not count.

Created by Sam Levinson, “Euphoria” follows Rue Bennett’s struggle with addiction and the turbulent lives of a group of high school students. The third season, which introduced a time jump and darker crime-lord storylines, has been marketed as a potential final chapter. The finale, titled “In God We Trust,” will run 93 minutes—making it the longest episode in HBO drama history .

Whether Rue survives Alamo’s attack or meets a tragic end, Polymarket bettors have made their prediction clear: the odds of Zendaya’s character dying now stand at 68% and climbing. As for Nate, his fate is already sealed—and Elordi called it “a cool way to go” .
