Elijah Blue Allman, the son of Cher, has waived his arraignment in a New Hampshire case stemming from an alleged incident at a prep school, with a trial date now set.
According to People, the 49-year-old waived arraignment on charges related to a February 27 incident at a prep school in Concord, New Hampshire. His trial has been scheduled for June 16.
Police previously said Allman was taken into custody after allegedly causing a disturbance at St Paul’s School and acting belligerently. He was charged with two counts of simple assault, criminal trespassing, criminal threatening and disorderly conduct.
Authorities noted that Allman had no known connection to the school. He was later released on personal recognisance bail following the incident.
Days later, on March 1, Allman was arrested again in a separate case after allegedly breaking into a home in Windham, New Hampshire. He was taken into custody at the scene “without incident,” according to police.
The legal developments come amid ongoing personal challenges. Cher recently filed again for a temporary conservatorship over her son’s estate, describing him in court documents as “gravely disabled” and citing severe mental health and addiction issues.
The filing also stated that Allman is currently being held in a locked psychiatric facility in New Hampshire as authorities attempt to restore his competency to face charges in multiple cases.
Allman, a musician and co-founder of the band Deadsy, has previously spoken publicly about his struggles with addiction and health issues.
He is due back in court for a separate hearing related to the Windham case, while a hearing on the conservatorship request is also scheduled in the coming days.
As the case moves forward, the upcoming trial will determine the outcome of the charges related to the prep school incident.
