Bryan Cranston told Shia LaBeouf to “get some help” during an interview with Frankie Muniz, as the pair discussed casting decisions linked to the film Holes and promoted the upcoming Malcolm in the Middle reboot Life’s Still Unfair.
The conversation, published by Esquire on April 15, featured Frankie Muniz reflecting on being offered a role in Holes before ultimately choosing Agent Cody Banks instead. Muniz explained that both projects were greenlit at the time and that he was asked to choose between them.
He said he selected the action-comedy role but noted that Holes was seen as a more serious film and suggested it might have influenced how his acting career developed.
Muniz also acknowledged Shia LaBeouf’s involvement in Holes, stating that he sometimes thinks about how different his career path might have been had he chosen the role that later helped launch LaBeouf’s early film success.
Bryan Cranston responded by saying, “You could’ve ended up with Shia LaBeouf’s life,” which prompted laughter from Muniz during the interview. After a pause, Cranston added, “Keep that one in. Shia, get some help.”
LaBeouf has faced multiple legal issues in recent years, including arrests and court appearances related to allegations of disorderly conduct and assault.
