New Hunger Games prequel trailer reveals Joseph Zada as young Haymitch in Second Quarter Quell story debut

The first official trailer for The Hunger Games: Sunrise On The Reaping has been released, offering a new look at the next chapter in the blockbuster franchise.
Directed by Francis Lawrence, the film revisits the world of Panem and centres on a young Haymitch Abernathy, played by Joseph Zada. The story unfolds 24 years before the events of The Hunger Games, beginning on the morning of the reaping for the 50th Hunger Games, also known as the Second Quarter Quell.
The screenplay is written by Billy Ray, with production led by Nina Jacobson, Brad Simpson and Lawrence. The trailer introduces audiences to a younger version of the franchise’s familiar world while expanding its timeline.
The ensemble cast includes Whitney Peak, Jesse Plemons, Ralph Fiennes, Glenn Close, Kieran Culkin, Elle Fanning, McKenna Grace, Maya Hawke and Kelvin Harrison Jr..
The Hunger Games franchise, based on the novels by Suzanne Collins, has sold over 100 million copies worldwide and grossed more than $3.4bn at the global box office across its previous films. The prequel novel Sunrise On The Reaping also recorded a strong debut, selling over 1.5 million copies globally in its first week.
The Hunger Games: Sunrise On The Reaping is scheduled for release on November 20, continuing the franchise’s expansion with a deeper exploration of its earlier timeline.
