Netflix series 'Big Mistakes' debuts with 95% Rotten Tomatoes score
Netflix comedy 'Big Mistakes' from Dan Levy and Rachel Sennott debuts at number two on global streaming charts

Netflix has released its latest original comedy series, Big Mistakes, which has debuted to a strong critical reception and quickly climbed to number two on the platform’s global top 10 list.
The series currently holds a 95% rating on Rotten Tomatoes based on reviews from nearly two dozen critics.
It was created by Dan Levy, known for Schitt’s Creek, alongside Rachel Sennott, who is also behind HBO’s I Love LA.
Big Mistakes follows “Two directionless siblings are blackmailed into the world of organised crime,” with Dan Levy starring alongside Taylor Ortega. The ensemble cast also includes Laurie Metcalf, Jack Innanen, Boran Kuzum and Abby Quinn.
The series consists of eight 30-minute episodes and is not currently classified as a limited series, suggesting potential for continuation.
While Netflix has not confirmed a second season, comedy titles on the platform are often renewed depending on performance and audience engagement.
Critical response has highlighted the series’ tonal mix. The AV Club described it as combining “a compelling blend of dark family comedy, crime caper, and character study,” while Vulture stated, “Even when it’s not being sweet, or when Nicky and Morgan are sincerely terrified about what’s happening to them... [the] trappings around them are so heightened and silly that Big Mistakes can’t help but come across as mostly a fun time.”
Dan Levy previously co-created Schitt’s Creek, which ran for 80 episodes and is widely regarded as a standout modern sitcom.
Big Mistakes is now available to stream on Netflix.
