Jon Bernthal is back as Frank Castle, aka the Punisher, in the first trailer for the upcoming Marvel TV special Punisher: One Last Kill, set to release on Disney+ on May 12.

The violent trailer depicts Castle engulfed in flames while experiencing hallucinations, signalling another bloody revenge mission.

Bernthal first portrayed the Punisher in Season 2 of Netflix’s Daredevil, introducing the former soldier turned vengeful anti-hero. Castle, driven by the murder of his family, dons his iconic black outfit with a white skull emblem and pursues criminals with unrelenting violence.

Following the Netflix run, which included two seasons of Punisher, Marvel transitioned its street-level superhero shows, including Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and The Defenders, to Disney+. Bernthal appeared alongside Charlie Cox’s Daredevil in Daredevil: Born Again and teamed up to confront Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin. In the Season 1 finale of Born Again, Punisher is imprisoned by Kingpin’s police force but escapes in a post-credits scene, setting up his next mission.

Punisher: One Last Kill arrives just one week after the Season 2 finale of Daredevil: Born Again and precedes Bernthal’s return in this summer’s Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Fans can expect the same high-stakes action and relentless violence that has defined the Punisher’s on-screen journey.
