The original stars of Charlies Angels reunited in Los Angeles to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the series during a special event at PaleyFest on April 6. Kate Jackson, Jaclyn Smith and Cheryl Ladd appeared together on the red carpet and took part in discussions reflecting on the show’s legacy.

The trio starred in the iconic television series that debuted in 1976, with Jackson and Smith originally joined by Farrah Fawcett. Ladd later replaced Fawcett in the second season and remained with the show until its conclusion in 1981.

At the anniversary event, the cast members were joined by family members, with Smith attending alongside her husband Brad Allen and Ladd accompanied by her daughters Jordan Ladd and Lindsay Walker. The reunion marked a rare public appearance for the three actors together.

During the panel, Ladd spoke about her experience with breast cancer, revealing she had been diagnosed with an “aggressive form” of the disease.

She described the experience as “humbling” and said, “I have a wonderful husband…he was there for me at every turn. Eventually, I started to get little sprouts of hair. It was a long, long, hard road, but you just get on with it.” Ladd confirmed she is now cancer-free following treatment.

The discussion also referenced the health challenges faced by other cast members over the years. Smith was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2002, while Jackson underwent treatment following diagnoses in 1987 and 1989. Fawcett died in 2009 after being diagnosed with anal cancer.

The reunion follows Smith’s recent announcement of her upcoming memoir, I Once Knew a Guy Named Charlie, set for release on September 8.

Speaking about the book, she said, “People have often asked me to share behind-the-scenes stories, and in these pages, you will find plenty.”
