Chala Hunter said they discussed 'consent levels, boundaries, and their feelings about the scenes in immense detail'

The intimacy coordinator behind Heated Rivalry is shedding light on how stars Hudson Williams and Connor Storrie built their on-screen chemistry.

Chala Hunter, who worked closely with the actors, explained that every intimate moment on the show was carefully planned while still allowing room for performance. “I could say ‘kissing with an open mouth but no tongue,’” she said, describing how she guides scenes while leaving interpretation to the actors.

She revealed that preparation for the series was extensive, involving detailed conversations with both actors. “Connor, Hudson, and I spoke for hours,” Hunter said, adding that they discussed “consent levels, boundaries, and their feelings about the scenes in immense detail.”

According to Hunter, each intimate scene was broken down step by step before filming, ensuring clarity and comfort for everyone involved. The process also included formal agreements such as nudity riders, which outline consent and expectations ahead of time.

Hunter also maintained a system to track the emotional and physical progression of the characters’ relationship, especially since scenes were filmed out of order. “I had a whole spreadsheet system tracking what episode we’re in and what came before,” she said.

She emphasized that her role goes beyond logistics, focusing on storytelling as well. “I was there to track these characters’ journey and their relationship with each other,” she explained, adding, “That’s how intimately… I approach the work.”
