Amazon MGM Studios has unveiled the first official trailer for Masters of the Universe, offering fans a fresh look at the long-awaited live-action adaptation of the iconic 1980s franchise.
The film stars Nicholas Galitzine as Prince Adam, who transforms into the legendary He-Man, alongside Jared Leto as the villainous Skeletor.
The story follows Prince Adam, who returns to the mystical world of Eternia after 15 years, guided by the powerful Sword of Power. Upon his return, he discovers his homeland under the oppressive control of Skeletor. To restore peace, Adam must embrace his destiny as He-Man and unite with allies including Teela, played by Camila Mendes, and Man-At-Arms, portrayed by Idris Elba.
Directed by Travis Knight, the film brings together a strong ensemble cast, including Alison Brie, Morena Baccarin, and Kristen Wiig, who lends her voice to Roboto. The project has been in development for years, undergoing multiple rewrites and creative shifts before finally moving forward under Amazon and Mattel.
With its mix of nostalgia, action, and high-stakes fantasy, Masters of the Universe aims to revive the beloved franchise for a new generation while tapping into the success of recent toy-based film adaptations. The movie is positioned as a potential franchise starter for Mattel, following the growing trend of adapting classic brands into cinematic universes.
