Under the Punjab's Community Health Inspectors Programme, registration of 2.7m residents is underway in Rawalpindi to provide medical profiling and healthcare guidance.
So far, 1.45m people have been registered. The district aims to prepare health and demographic profiles for 2.7 million residents.
A total of 1,135 lady health workers, 328 community health inspectors, and 22 workers from the Population Welfare Dept - now merged with the Primary and Secondary Healthcare Dept - are conducting door-to-door visits.
The recruitment of an additional 812 community health inspectors is also in progress. Once completed, a total of 2,297 health workers will be engaged in household visits.
These workers will check blood pressure, sugar levels, height, and weight of family members, assess other health indicators, examine health issues faced by women and children, and register children for vaccination. They will also guide families on disease treatment and promote family planning.
District Coordinator IRMNCH Dr Haris Rafiq said the programme is of significant importance as it ensures access to healthcare guidance at the doorstep, helping citizens lead healthier lives and preventing them from being neglected in the healthcare system.
