AJ McLean has publicly expressed support for Britney Spears following her recent DUI arrest, offering insight into their ongoing connection as neighbors.

Speaking at the iHeartRadio Music Awards 2026 in Los Angeles, McLean shared that he occasionally crosses paths with Spears, noting that they live in the same neighborhood. He explained that when they do meet, he makes a point to check on her and offer support, adding that he wishes her well amid recent challenges.

Spears, 44, was arrested on March 4 in Ventura County, California, after being stopped by police for allegedly swerving and speeding while driving a black BMW 430i. According to authorities, she showed signs of impairment and underwent field sobriety tests. She was booked on suspicion of driving under the influence of a combination of drugs and alcohol and was released the following morning. The case remains under investigation.

A representative for Spears later addressed the incident, describing it as “completely inexcusable” and emphasizing that the singer intends to comply with legal requirements while seeking necessary support. The statement also noted that her family and loved ones are working toward a plan focused on her well-being.

Spears’ ex-husbands, Kevin Federline and Sam Asghari, also commented on the situation. Federline expressed hope that Spears would accept help if needed, while Asghari called for privacy as she navigates the aftermath of the arrest.

The incident has reignited public attention around Spears, with industry peers like McLean continuing to voice their support.
