Jill Duggar Dillard breaks silence as family reacts to brother Joseph Duggar’s arrest
Jill and Derick Dillard stressed the importance of accountability, saying they hope 'truth and justice are upheld'

Jill Duggar Dillard is speaking out following the arrest of her brother Joseph Duggar on child molestation charges, calling the situation “shocking” and deeply upsetting.
In a public statement shared with her husband Derick Dillard, the couple said they first learned about the allegations through media reports and a message from a friend. “We were shocked to hear the news,” they said, adding that the situation has been “deeply disturbing.”
The couple strongly condemned the alleged actions and voiced support for the victim. “Our hearts go out to the victim and her family,” they said, emphasizing that they are praying for her healing and wellbeing.
Jill and Derick also stressed the importance of accountability, saying they hope “truth and justice are upheld” as the case moves forward.
They acknowledged the wider impact on the family, including Joseph’s wife and children, calling it a “tragic situation” for everyone involved.
Joseph Duggar, 31, was arrested in March 2026 in connection with an alleged 2020 incident involving a 9-year-old girl during a family vacation in Florida. Authorities say he is facing charges of lewd and lascivious molestation and is currently awaiting extradition.
The case has once again placed the Duggar family under scrutiny. Joseph’s older brother, Josh Duggar, was previously convicted on child sexual abuse material charges and sentenced to more than a decade in prison.
Jill Duggar Dillard’s statement marks one of the first direct responses from within the family, making it clear where she stands as the legal process continues.
