Taylor Frankie Paul cuts off contact with Dakota Mortensen during ongoing investigation
The pair, who share a one-year-old son, are now communicating only through a third party to manage co-parenting

Taylor Frankie Paul has revealed she is maintaining “no contact” with ex-boyfriend Dakota Mortensen as both remain involved in an ongoing domestic assault investigation.
Speaking amid the controversy, Paul said the decision to cut off direct communication was necessary, describing their past relationship as an “addictive cycle” and emphasizing that distance is “the best case” for both of them.
The pair, who share a one-year-old son, are now communicating only through a third party to manage co-parenting responsibilities while the investigation continues. Authorities previously confirmed that allegations have been made by both sides, with police contact occurring in late February.
The situation has placed Paul under intense public scrutiny, particularly as it unfolds just days before her debut as the lead on The Bachelorette. She has acknowledged the emotional toll, calling it a “heavy time” while still choosing to fulfill her professional commitments.
The investigation has also had wider repercussions across her career. Filming for The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives has reportedly been halted, with sources citing concerns among cast members and the seriousness of the allegations.
This is not the first time the former couple’s relationship has made headlines. In 2023, Paul was arrested following an alleged domestic incident involving Mortensen, later pleading guilty in abeyance to aggravated assault, meaning the charge could be dismissed if legal conditions are met.
Despite the ongoing legal situation, Paul has framed her participation in The Bachelorette as an opportunity to break away from what she described as a toxic environment and focus on personal growth.
For now, the investigation remains active, and while both parties have made allegations, no formal conclusions have been announced.
