Hunters fined Rs205k in Attock

The Punjab Wildlife Department in Attock district conducted operations against illegal hunting and unlawful trade of birds in various tehsils, issuing six challans and recovering fines worth Rs205,000.

According to official sources, the actions were taken in different areas of the district as part of efforts to curb illegal hunting and protect wildlife. In Jand tehsil, one person was fined Rs50,000 for illegally keeping six partridges, which were later released into their natural habitat.

Another violator in the same tehsil was fined Rs35,000 for keeping a peacock without permission. Officials also imposed a fine of Rs45,000 on a person for setting up an illegal hunting net, which was confiscated and destroyed on the spot. In Hazro tehsil, a man was fined Rs30,000 for laying nets to trap quails, while the nets were dismantled by authorities.
