Prosecutors say shooting at Rihanna’s Los Angeles home was premeditated
Prosecutors allege shooting at Rihanna’s Los Angeles home was premeditated as suspect faces attempted murder charge

A Florida woman has been charged with attempted murder and multiple other offences after shots were fired at Rihanna’s Los Angeles home, with prosecutors alleging the attack was planned.
According to a criminal complaint cited by People, authorities said the shooting was “willful, deliberate and premeditated,” and that the singer was the intended target.
Ivanna Lisette Ortiz, from Orlando, Florida, was arrested after police stopped a white Tesla linked to the incident. She appeared in court on Tuesday and faces one count of attempted murder along with several other charges.
Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman said the incident occurred at around 1:20 pm on Sunday when gunfire was directed at the property.
Rihanna was reportedly at home with her partner, rapper A$AP Rocky, their three children — RZA, Riot and Rocki — as well as her mother, Monica Braithwaite, and two employees.
Prosecutors said around 10 shots were fired from the street using an AR-15-style rifle. Authorities are continuing to determine where each round struck. Reports indicate that several rounds or fragments hit the property, while shots also struck a neighbouring home.
No injuries were reported among the eight people inside Rihanna’s residence or the two people at the neighbouring property.
According to prosecutors, Rihanna and A$AP Rocky were inside an Airstream trailer located on the property at the time of the shooting.
The criminal complaint includes charges of assault with a semiautomatic firearm for each person present across both properties and counts of shooting at inhabited dwellings, including the trailer.
Ortiz was taken into custody without incident, and a firearm was recovered. Her bail has been set at $1.8 million.
Authorities have not confirmed a motive and are reviewing social media posts that reportedly referenced the singer. Ortiz has also been issued a stay-away order preventing contact with any of the alleged victims.
If convicted, Ortiz could face a sentence of up to life in state prison. Her arraignment has been postponed until March 25.
