Sindh announces school holiday for March 11

The Sindh government has announced a holiday in schools across the province on Wednesday on the occasion of Youm-e-Ali.
According to an official notification issued by the School Education Department secretary, schools will remain closed on March 11, corresponding to the 21st of Ramazan, to mark the religious occasion.
“The holiday will be observed in all government and private schools across the province,” the notification stated.
Officials said the decision to observe the holiday had earlier been approved during a meeting of the steering committee held on February 12.

Last week, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah reviewed security and administrative arrangements for the upcoming religious occasions of Youm-e-Ali, Youm-e-Quds and Jummat-ul-Vida during a meeting with prominent scholars at the Chief Minister's House.
Participants held detailed discussions on administrative and security measures for the observance of Youm-e-Ali, Youm-e-Quds and Jumat-ul-Vida. They also exchanged views on guiding the public in light of the regional situation following recent attacks on Iran.

Speaking on the occasion, the CM said the country was currently facing a war-like situation and emphasised the need for unity, patience and brotherhood among the people. Shah said consultations with religious scholars were aimed at promoting harmony and strengthening joint efforts to maintain peace during important religious occasions.
The meeting decided to further enhance security and administrative arrangements for the upcoming events. The CM assured participants that the Sindh government would ensure the best possible security measures and urged religious scholars to cooperate with the administration.
The participants also agreed to strengthen coordination between the Sindh government and religious scholars to maintain peace and religious harmony.
