CM, Shia Ulema unite for peaceful Youm-e-Ali, Quds Day

Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah on Friday reviewed security and administrative arrangements for the upcoming religious occasions of Youm-e-Ali, Youm-e-Quds and Jumat-ul-Vida during a meeting with prominent Shia scholars (Ulema-e-Jafaria) at the Chief Minister's House.

The meeting began with prayers for the elevation of the ranks of martyrs. Participants held detailed discussions on administrative and security measures for the observance of Youm-e-Ali, Youm-e-Quds and Jumat-ul-Vida. They also exchanged views on guiding the public in light of the regional situation following recent attacks on Iran.

Speaking on the occasion, the chief minister said the country was currently facing a war-like situation and emphasised the need for unity, patience and brotherhood among the people.

"If the public are properly guided about the prevailing circumstances, unnecessary issues can be avoided," he said, adding that maintaining peace and law and order in the city remained the government's foremost responsibility.

Murad Ali Shah said consultations with religious scholars were aimed at promoting harmony and strengthening joint efforts to maintain peace during important religious occasions.

The meeting decided to further enhance security and administrative arrangements for the upcoming events. The chief minister assured participants that the Sindh government would ensure the best possible security measures and urged religious scholars to cooperate with the administration.

Participants also agreed to strengthen coordination between the Sindh government and religious scholars to maintain peace and religious harmony.
