Actor Ashton Kutcher has discussed the season one finale of FX’s horror drama The Beauty, including a deleted scene and his approach to portraying the character Byron Forst.

The final episode centres on Byron, a pharmaceutical figure whose product, known as the Beauty, begins to cause severe consequences after spreading through infections.

During the finale, Byron experiences a shift in perspective after his wife Franny, played by Isabella Rossellini and Nicola Peltz Beckham, attempts suicide following a forced dose of the drug administered by her sons.

After learning that the infection linked to the Beauty is causing severe deformities in some cases, Byron decides to halt the product’s distribution. He also plans to provide free boosters for those who have already taken it and to address the harm caused.

However, his sons take a different approach and align themselves with Dr. Diana, federal agents investigating Byron and the Assassin in an effort to remove him from power.

The episode concludes with unresolved questions about several characters. It remains uncertain whether Cooper, portrayed by Evan Peters and Hudson Barry, will recover after being transformed into a preteen version of himself. Byron’s future also remains unclear following his decision to reverse course.

Speaking about the series, Kutcher said one of the most memorable moments for him involved a monologue that did not appear in the final version of the show.

“There was one where it’s actually not even anything to show, but there was a monologue that was I’m in a writer’s room where I’ve hired some big hot-shot writers to help me write the ad campaign for the Beauty, and it was just funny. That was really fun,” he said.

Kutcher also highlighted a monologue included in the series, describing it as a scene intended to make viewers question Byron’s motivations.

“The one monologue that is in there that I most appreciated is probably in that living room scene where it’s he’s selling something,” he said.

The Beauty is currently streaming on Hulu.
