'Bridgerton' showrunner confirms Eloise’s endgame amid storyline speculation
Jess Brownell has confirmed who Eloise will end up with, addressing speculation her storyline was changed

Bridgerton showrunner Jess Brownell has confirmed who Eloise will end up with, addressing speculation that the Netflix series could change her storyline from the books.
In season 2, Eloise, played by Claudia Jessie, shared notable chemistry with Theo, portrayed by Calam Lynch. The pairing prompted strong fan support, despite differing from Julia Quinn’s original novels.
In the book series, Eloise ultimately marries Sir Phillip Crane, a character previously introduced in the television adaptation. Sir Phillip, played by Chris Fulton, was married to Marina, Penelope’s relative from season one.
Brownell clarified the show’s direction in an interview with Swooon, stating, “I think we are interested in honoring the love interest from Eloise’s book. I can dispel, she’s not ending up with Theo. She’s ending up with the love interest from her book.”
She added, “What exactly [Eloise’s season] looks like I don’t want to speak too much on because I want to keep it focused on Luke and Yerin for now before we talk about future seasons too much.”
Author Julia Quinn also weighed in, saying: “She should be with Sir Phillip.”
“Contrary to rumors — and I’ve seen these rumors — I do not have anything in my contract saying that all of the characters must end up with the person in the book, but yeah, no. I can’t wait… I think she should end up with Sir Phillip. I think that would be great,” she added.
An updated cast list for season 5 has also been released, confirming returning and departing actors.
