Alysa Liu on love life: 'I have so much love in my life already'
Olympic skater Alysa Liu shares she isn’t seeking romance now and is focused on self-love and creativity

Alysa Liu has shared details about her personal life, revealing she is not currently dating.
In an interview with Cosmopolitan, the 20-year-old Olympic figure skater said, “Oh my god, this is, like, the first time I’ve talked about this. That’s a whole other thing that I’m not feeling right now. I have so much love in my life already, and I have so many amazing people, I just haven’t felt the need to look for more or look elsewhere. I really love myself. And my standards are quite high, too.”
Liu, who returned to competitive skating after a brief pause at 16 and then resumed at 18, recently won two gold medals at the 2026 Winter Olympics. She discussed how her comeback was guided by her own choices.
“I get to pick my own program music. I get to help with the creative process of the program. If I feel like I’m skating too much, I’ll back down. If I feel like I’m not skating enough, I’ll ramp it up. No one’s going to starve me. Tell me what I can and can’t eat,” she told 60 Minutes last month.
The skater is also focusing on her creative pursuits outside of sport. In an interview with E! News, she said, “I have work that I want to put out. I have creative ideas. I’m really into fashion and I love to express myself in any way and sharing my story and my life experiences. I love storytelling and I love hearing other stories from other people, too.”
Liu’s recent Olympic success marks the first gold for a US female figure skater since Sarah Hughes in 2002. Her return to the ice and openness about self-love and creativity have made her a role model both on and off the rink.
