Hero Fiennes Tiffin revealed advice he received from Henry Cavill while attending the world premiere of Young Sherlock in London.
The Prime Video series, directed and executive produced by Guy Ritchie, premiered at the Southbank Centre’s Queen Elizabeth Hall, which was transformed to resemble 221B Baker Street for the event. All eight episodes of Young Sherlock are set to debut on March 4 on Prime Video.
The series explores the early years of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s iconic detective. Hero Fiennes Tiffin stars as the young Sherlock Holmes, appearing alongside his uncle, Joseph Fiennes, who portrays Sherlock’s father, Silas. The cast also includes Dónal Finn, Zine Tseng and Max Irons, with Matthew Parkhill serving as writer and showrunner.

Speaking at the premiere, Hero Fiennes Tiffin discussed working with Joseph Fiennes for the first time. He described the experience as supportive, noting that portraying a father-son dynamic benefited from their real-life family connection. Joseph Fiennes expressed pride in his nephew’s performance, calling the collaboration meaningful.
Hero Fiennes Tiffin also shared advice he received from Henry Cavill, his former co-star in The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare. Cavill, who previously portrayed Sherlock Holmes in Netflix’s Enola Holmes and its sequel, encouraged him with the words: “A man who worries before it’s necessary, worries more than necessary.”
Director Guy Ritchie, who previously worked with Fiennes Tiffin, praised the actor’s professionalism and demeanor. With its high-profile cast and established creative team, Young Sherlock has generated significant attention ahead of its streaming debut on Prime Video.
