Viral video questions IFA's sample handling
.

The federal capital's food safety system has come under fire after a video showing milk samples allegedly collected by the Islamabad Food Authority (IFA) from various shops being dumped in a drain surfaced online.
The video has sparked widespread concern among the public, who called for a transparent inquiry. The video shows milk samples in bottles, bearing regular codes, being dumped in a drain. Some of the bottles are clearly marked with authority slips, giving the impression that the samples were collected from various shops as part of a regular operation. A government vehicle, allegedly used by the Food Authority, can also be seen in the video.
According to sources, there are regular Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the disposal of food samples, under which records of samples are kept and they are disposed of according to specific procedures to ensure transparency and environmental protection. However, the process shown in the viral video seems to be contrary to these regulations, which has led to many questions being raised.
Citizens have demanded that the DC and Islamabad Commissioner conduct a complete and impartial inquiry into the incident to determine those responsible.
