KARACHI:

The initial schedule for HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 11 has been prepared. It has been proposed that the opening match on 26 March will be played between defending champions Lahore Qalandars and the new team Hyderabad Kingsmen.

A meeting was held with representatives of all franchises to discuss the draft schedule. After incorporating their suggestions, the schedule will be finalized.

According to details, with the addition of two new teams, the 11th edition of the Pakistan Super League will begin on 26 March. Practice sessions will take place from 22 to 25 March. Traditionally, the opening match features the defending champions. Sources say that on 26 March, Lahore Qalandars will face the new franchise Hyderabad Houston Kingsmen at Gaddafi Stadium.

Matches will be played in Lahore, Karachi, Multan, Faisalabad, Rawalpindi, and Peshawar. The PCB has also announced that matches will be held in Peshawar. Zalmi’s first match will be against Islamabad United under floodlights on March 28.

Qualifier 1 will be played in Rawalpindi on 2 May. Eliminator 1 will take place the following day at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. Eliminator 2 is scheduled at the same venue on 5 May. The final will be played on 10 May. Although the host venue has not yet been officially decided, it is likely to be held at Gaddafi Stadium.

In the 11th edition, along with Lahore Qalandars, Karachi Kings, Peshawar Zalmi, Islamabad United, and Quetta Gladiators, the new teams PindiZ, Hyderabad Houston Kingsmen, and sialkot stallianz will also participate.

The PCB has not extended the agreement with Multan Sultans. The franchise owners have adopted the name “PindiZ.” Meanwhile, the party that purchased Sialkot Stallions is facing financial difficulties. A new company interested in buying majority shares is considering naming the team “Multan.” The situation is expected to become clear in the coming days.
