ISLAMABAD:

Former Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmad has sought permission from the judge of the special Anti-Terrorism Court to go to Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah. The judge of the court, while accepting the Umrah permission application for hearing, ordered the public prosecutor to present a written response and position today (Tuesday), February 24.

Rashid Ahmad also appeared in court. His lawyer Sardar Abdul Raziq Advocate argued that the former Interior Minister goes to perform Umrah every year in Ramazan and he would like to go this year too. He told the court that even though the High Court single bench allowed him to go for Umrah, the FIA had stopped him.
