The Young Doctor’s Association (YDA) leaders on Friday demanded that the government to withdraw ‘baseless’ cases against doctors across the province and threatened to move a court if they did not.
In a meeting on Friday, the doctors said that the imposition of Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) had resulted in the victimisation of the doctors in police raids. The participants of the meeting included representatives of the Pakistan Medical Association, Pakistan Academy of Family Physicians and the Private Hospital Association.
Dr Salman Kazmi said that YDA had proposed Rs90 as the charge for the complete blood count (CBC) test by private laboratories and clinics and provision of 20 per cent beds in all private hospitals free of cost.
