RAWALPINDI:

On the other hand, the district administration has once again extended Section 144 across the revenue limits of Rawalpindi district for a period of 15 days until February 21.

The decision comes amid the prevailing security situation, maintenance of law and order, and anticipated protests by the opposition.

According to sources, a notification issued by Rawalpindi DC Hasan Waqar Cheema stated that holding public meetings, gatherings, sit-ins, rallies, processions and demonstrations will remain prohibited throughout Rawalpindi. The ban also applies to the assembly of more than five persons.

The notification further imposed restrictions on the display of weapons, carrying arms, delivery of objectionable or hate speeches.
