Dutch-Pakistani singer Imran Khan brought his first live performance to Karachi

The international artist headlined a private show, marking his long-awaited return to Karachi

Dutch-Punjabi singer and songwriter Imran Khan performed at a private concert held in DHA, Creek Club in Karachi over the weekend, headlining his first show in his home-town since he rose to fame as an international artist with his debut single Ni Nachleh in 2007.

Imran Khan, who has been notoriously famous in the Pakistani pop culture industry since the early 2000s has been associated primarily in the genre of Punjabi-language and hip hop music.

After being signed to Prestige Records in 2007, he released his first album Unforgettable with key hits like Amplifier and Bewafa making it to the top charts.

For Millennials and Gen Z, Imran Khan helps them revisit a nostalgic moment in time, where his music was once the soundtrack to late-night drives, school memories, first crushes, and the feeling of being young and unstoppable.

The singer shared this video on his Instagram account, mid-performance of his hit song Bewafa, where he faces the microphone towards the eager audience - some lyrics just stick with us forever, it seems. One commentator took to his Instagram to write, “Bachpan k din yaad aagye”, emphasizing the memories of her childhood.

Another wriote,“Minimalist artist: one song, maximum impact, lifelong usage”.

Other audience members appreciated his impact, saying “One legacy, billion likes, and still listening not getting bored, legend for a reason”.

Imran Khan is expected to take on Lahore next, where he will be performing at Global Village on 6th Febuary.
