Sophie Nélisse, who plays rising hockey player Alex Monroe on the hit series Heated Rivalry, has opened up about supporting her co-stars Hudson Williams and Connor Storrie as the show continues to dominate screens and social media. She described herself as their “biggest cheerleader,” reflecting on the whirlwind success of the series.

Speaking to Elka TV at the Prime Time 2026 Gala in Ottawa, Nélisse was asked what's the wildest thing that has happened to the actress since Heated Rivalry premiered to which she replied that Williams and Storrie's success and fame has been the thing.

“Honestly watching their success, like being their biggest champion and being their biggest cheerleader, and watching just almost from the sidelines like this show blow up… it’s been incredible, the Rose Landry actress said. She also called witnessing the actors’ rapid rise both exciting and surreal.

Nélisse also recounted playful conversations with Hudson Williams about their shifting social media followings. “I remember having conversations with Hudson when we were working, and him being like, ‘So what is it like, I had more followers than you before?’ and now it feels like the tables have turned. I’m like asking him, ‘How does it feel to have this overnight success?’ It’s been really fun to see the role being switched around,” she added.

Beyond Heated Rivalry, Nélisse has earned acclaim for her performances in films such as The Book Thief and Worst Case, We Get Married, showcasing her versatility across both drama and coming-of-age projects. Fans continue to celebrate not only her on-screen work but also her enthusiastic support of her co-stars’ careers, which she says makes her role on set all the more rewarding.
