Court unseals filling station on KU land
Petitioner's counsel says land legally purchased in 2012

The Constitutional Bench of the Sindh High Court has suspended for three weeks the order of the Deputy Commissioner East to seal a filling station allegedly built on encroached land belonging to the University of Karachi.
The bench heard a petition challenging the sealing of the filling station on the allegation that it had been established after encroaching upon university land. Counsel for the petitioner, PSO's lawyer Asim Iqbal Advocate, argued that the allegation of encroachment was baseless, stating that the land had been lawfully purchased in 2012.
He further contended that the Deputy Commissioner sealed the filling station without giving the petitioner an opportunity to present its case or offer an explanation.
After hearing the arguments, the court suspended the Deputy Commissioner East's sealing order for three weeks, directed the restoration of the filling station, and issued notices to the parties. The court also sought a report from the Deputy Commissioner regarding the sealing action.
