KARACHI:

What began as an ordinary outing for a family turned into an unimaginable tragedy. The Gul Plaza incident has left loved ones shattered, as four members of the same family were finally identified and laid to rest on Sunday, while two remain unknown.

Of the six members, the bodies of four victims were identified and handed over to their relatives on Sunday from the Edhi morgue in Sohrab Goth.

The bodies were transported to the family's residence by Edhi ambulances.

According to the Edhi Foundation spokesperson, the affected family belonged to Delhi Colony and had visited Gul Plaza for shopping. DNA testing helped identify four victims, including three women.

Those identified include 14-year-old Maryam, daughter of Noor Ahmed, 30-year-old Nimrah, daughter of Irfan, 32-year-old Muhammad Saad and 35-year-old Misbah Parveen.

Rescue officials said the identification process of two other victims from the same family -—a woman, Kausar Parveen, and a man, Ashraf Ali — was still underway, as grieving relatives wait in anguish for closure.
