IHC reserves verdict on labour petition
.

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has reserved its verdict on the maintainability of a petition challenging the appointment of a labour officer in the federal capital. The case was heard by Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani, who expressed strong displeasure after it emerged that the petitioner appeared unfamiliar with his own petition.
The judge remarked that such litigation often appears to be filed at the behest of unseen interests, observing that disputes should be fought by those directly concerned.
During the hearing, Justice Kayani questioned the petitioner sternly, asking whether he even knew the individual against whom the petition had been filed, who had instructed him to file the case, and whether he had received any payment.
The court noted with concern that the petitioner was unaware of the office held by the person he had challenged. When the petitioner's counsel attempted to intervene, the judge restrained him, stating that he wished to question the petitioner directly. Justice Kayani further admonished the petitioner, warning him against misleading the court and reminding him of the serious consequences of making false statements under oath.
