Ashton Kutcher clears up rumours that he and wife, Mila Kunis, don't shower

"I’m like, 'I shower, I go to the gym, I shower,'" the actor clarified

Ashton Kutcher is finally addressing the long-running rumors about his personal hygiene after a past podcast clip sparked widespread speculation that he and his wife, Mila Kunis, don’t shower.

Speaking in a recent interview while promoting his upcoming FX series The Beauty, the actor dismissed the claims as exaggerated and misleading, calling the reaction “the craziest thing of all time.”

Kutcher explained that the rumors stemmed from a comment he and Kunis made years ago during an appearance on Dax Shepard’s Armchair Expert podcast. “We made a comment at one point,” he said, recalling how quickly the conversation spiraled online. “And people were like, ‘Does he stink? Does he smell?’”

Laughing off the misunderstanding, Kutcher clarified his actual routine and insisted he never stopped showering. “There was a comment on a podcast, so long ago … and people are like, ‘They don’t shower,’” he said. “I’m like, ‘I shower, I go to the gym, I shower.’” His The Beauty co-star Anthony Ramos also backed him up, adding, “I can confirm my boy showers.”

The actor noted that the original discussion was taken out of context, as he had been talking about being mindful with water use and focusing on washing essential areas daily rather than excessive full showers. Despite the explanation, the clip resurfaced years later and quickly turned into an internet meme questioning his cleanliness.

In the same interview, Kutcher also opened up about physically preparing for The Beauty, in which he plays a powerful tech billionaire known as The Corporation. He shared that he worked closely with a trainer, adjusted his diet, and even cut out alcohol to get into shape for the role, which includes several shirtless and swim scenes.

The Beauty is set to premiere with three episodes on January 21, airing on FX and streaming on Hulu and Disney+.
