Gulshan Iqbal came alive with a riot of colours as the much-awaited Chrysanthemum Flower Show opened its doors to citizens eager to enjoy the seasonal spectacle. Visitors clicked pictures with the vibrant blooms while children enjoyed the swings and rides.
The exhibition was inaugurated by Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi Chief Monem Zafar Khan, alongside Gulshan Iqbal Town Chairman Dr Fawad Ahmed. Praising the organisers, Khan described the show as a testament to Karachi's diversity, calling the city a beautiful bouquet of different cultures and communities.
Khan highlighted the party's ongoing efforts to organise public events across nine towns, noting the establishment of two youth centres in Gulshan e Iqbal for community registration and activities. He also criticised the Sindh government for neglecting development budgets in towns, saying officials are struggling to pay staff salaries and maintain municipal services.
Chairman Dr Fawad Ahmed said the flower show is held for the first time in 20 years, highlighting the hard work of the park department in revitalising the town's 38 parks. "Nineteen parks have already been opened, providing citizens with spaces for recreation and healthful activities."
