Rush Hour 4 production details emerge, including Saudi Arabia filming
Rush Hour 4 is moving forward with Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker, teasing poaching storyline and global filming

The long-awaited Rush Hour 4 is reportedly moving closer to production, with updates revealing early story details, distribution plans, and filming locations.
The sequel will see Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker reprise their roles as Agents Lee and Carter, continuing the franchise nearly two decades after the first film.
While a domestic distribution deal has not been finalized, sources indicate Paramount could release the film in 4,000 theaters across the United States, a condition reportedly set by Warner Bros., which holds franchise rights. Producer Tarak Ben Ammar and Brett Ratner’s partner Bahman Naraghi have raised approximately $100 million to date, though formal deals with Chan and Tucker are still pending. Both actors have expressed eagerness to return, urging the studio to move forward with production.
Early story reports suggest the sequel will center around global wildlife poaching, sending Agents Lee and Carter on missions across China, Africa, and Saudi Arabia. This international approach follows the franchise’s pattern of placing the duo in new environments, from Los Angeles in Rush Hour to Hong Kong in Rush Hour 2, and Paris in Rush Hour 3.
The third film, released in 2007, underperformed critically and at the box office, earning a 17% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Critics cited a reliance on established formulas without fresh ideas. The Rush Hour 4 team appears to be aiming for a revitalized storyline, hoping to engage audiences with a mix of action, comedy, and international intrigue.
Production is expected to begin in spring or summer 2026, pending final agreements with the lead actors. Fans and industry observers are watching closely, anticipating whether the franchise can recapture its earlier popularity and bring a fresh perspective to the beloved action-comedy series.
