Adam the Woo, the popular YouTube creator whose real name was Adam Williams, has died at the age of 51, according to a statement shared by his family on social media.

His father confirmed that Williams was found dead at his home in Celebration, Florida, on Monday. No further details surrounding his death have been released at this time.

Williams launched his YouTube channel in around 2009, building a following by exploring abandoned locations, documenting filming sites from well-known films and television shows, and sharing roadside attractions across the United States. In the early years of his career, he travelled extensively while living in a van, supported largely by donations from viewers as his audience steadily grew.

In 2012, he launched a second channel, TheDailyWoo, committing to daily vlogs that chronicled his travels and everyday experiences. He maintained the daily format for five years, with the channel eventually becoming his primary platform. His videos frequently featured theme parks, haunted attractions, small towns and pop culture landmarks. Williams later confirmed that he had filmed content in all 50 US states and began travelling internationally earlier this year.

He was particularly known for his enthusiasm for Walt Disney history, producing numerous videos filmed at Disneyland and Walt Disney World, as well as historic Disney-related locations in Kansas City, Missouri, including Laugh-Gram Studio, Union Station and the TWA Moonliner.

Tributes have poured in from fellow creators, including close friend Justin Scarred, who wrote on Facebook, “The world has lost a giant, and I have lost a friend closer to me than blood.” He added, “We lost Adam. I loved this man with my whole heart and I don’t know what to do or what to say.”

Scarred also urged the public to respect the family’s privacy, stating, “Please don’t spread around fake rumors. It seems to have been peaceful and natural.”

Williams’ family includes his parents, Jim and June, and his sister, Faith. Further statements are expected to be shared at an appropriate time.
