Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen has spoken publicly about entering parenthood with his wife, Hailee Steinfeld, describing the experience as a significant new chapter in his life. The comments come after the couple shared their pregnancy announcement on Instagram earlier this month.

Allen reflected on the past year, which included professional milestones such as having his jersey retired at the University of Wyoming and receiving the 2024 NFL MVP award.

Speaking to the Associated Press, he discussed the progression of his career, saying, “I was just trying to figure out protections and how to throw the ball correctly. We’ve come a long way.”

He then turned to developments off the field, including starting a family. “I guess it’s like the evolution of life,” Allen said while speaking about his connection to Buffalo and the team’s supporters.

“I consider this place my home. It’s where I’ve done a lot of growing up. And it’s a place that I’ll raise a family. It’s really cool.”

Allen also addressed the video he and Steinfeld posted to announce the pregnancy. “It just kind of came about,” he said of the post, adding that he was “overjoyed, absolutely overjoyed” about expecting his first child with Steinfeld.

The quarterback has previously expressed admiration for his wife, whom he married in May. Speaking to reporters, he said, “I love my wife, she’s my favorite teammate,” adding that while the news had only recently become public, he had “known for a long time.”

“You know it’s a really cool, special moment in my life and my wife’s,” Allen added.

Steinfeld has not directly commented since the announcement, but she has previously spoken about her relationship with Allen.

“I literally thank God every day that I found my person, and it’s the greatest thing in the world,” she said. “Life makes sense. Everything makes sense. I feel like I am stepping into the version that I’ve always dreamed of being.”
