On-screen marking in IT exams planned
Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Rawalpindi
The entire system of the Boards of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) in Punjab will be transitioned to on-screen marking from the coming year, beginning with computer science as the pilot subject.
According to officials, the decision aims to modernise assessment procedures, accelerate result processing and curb long-standing irregularities in examination administration.
The reform was unveiled by the Chairman of the Chief Minister's Task Force on Boards, Muzammil Mahmood, during a briefing attended by education administrators.
The officials said the move forms part of a digitisation drive that will standardise rules, introduce biometric verification at examination centres and overhaul practical examination protocols to focus on authentic student competency.
Authorities said computer science had been chosen as the first subject for on-screen marking because of its objective answer format and the subject's alignment with digital workflows.
