Reiner family breaks silence after deaths of filmmaker Rob Reiner and Michele Reiner

Jake and Romy Reiner, the children of filmmaker Rob Reiner and author Michele Singer Reiner, have issued their first public statement following the deaths of their parents.

The statement comes days after their brother, Nick Reiner, was arrested and charged in connection with the case.

In a message obtained by TMZ, the siblings described the loss as devastating and expressed the depth of their grief. “Words cannot even begin to describe the unimaginable pain we are experiencing every moment of the day,” they said. “The horrific and devastating loss of our parents, Rob and Michele Reiner, is something that no one should ever experience.”

They added that their parents were not only influential figures in their lives but also their closest companions. “They weren’t just our parents; they were our best friends,” the statement continued.

Jake and Romy also acknowledged the public response to the tragedy, thanking friends, family, and supporters for their condolences. However, they asked for privacy as the legal process continues and urged the public to approach the situation with care and compassion.

“We are grateful for the outpouring of kindness and support we have received from people from all walks of life,” they said. “We now ask for respect and privacy, for speculation to be tempered with compassion and humanity, and for our parents to be remembered for the incredible lives they lived and the love they gave.”

Nick Reiner has been charged with multiple counts related to the deaths and has appeared briefly in court. The investigation remains ongoing.
