Nick Reiner, 32, appeared briefly in Los Angeles court on December 17 in connection with the deaths of his parents, acclaimed director Rob Reiner and Michele Singer Reiner.

His formal arraignment has been rescheduled for January 7 after his attorney informed the judge that Reiner had not yet been medically cleared to be transported for a full hearing.

Prosecutors have charged Reiner with two counts of first‑degree murder with special circumstances for multiple murders and an allegation that a dangerous weapon was used. If convicted, he could face life in prison without the possibility of parole or the death penalty.

During the brief hearing, Reiner did not enter a plea. He remains held without bail at the Los Angeles County jail while the case proceeds.

The charges stem from a tragic incident on December 14, when both Rob Reiner, known for directing films such as When Harry Met Sally… and The Princess Bride, and Michele Singer Reiner were found dead in their Brentwood home with multiple stab wounds. Their daughter, Romy Reiner, reportedly discovered her father’s body and was later informed of her mother’s death.

The arraignment delay marks the next stage in a highly publicized and emotional case that has drawn significant attention as details continue to emerge and legal proceedings unfold.
