‘NCIS: Los Angeles’ and ‘McLeod’s Daughters’ actress Rachael Carpani passes away
Actress Rachael Carpani has died at 45 following a chronic illness

Australian actress Rachael Carpani has died at the age of 45, her family confirmed on Monday.
The actress passed away peacefully following a long battle with a chronic illness, according to a statement shared by her sister, Georgia Carpani.
“It is with great sadness that Tony and Gael Carpani announce that their beautiful daughter, beloved Australian actress Rachael Carpani, unexpectedly but peacefully passed away after a long battle with chronic illness,” the family said.
They added that a private funeral will be held on December 19 with close family and friends, and requested privacy during the difficult time.
While the exact nature of her illness was not disclosed, reports indicate that Carpani was hospitalized in 2021 with abdominal pain and underwent surgery related to an undisclosed condition.
Carpani built a wide-ranging career across Australian and American television. She was perhaps best known in Australia for her role as Jodi Fountain on the long-running drama McLeod’s Daughters, where she appeared across multiple seasons during the show’s eight-year run. The role helped establish her as a familiar face on Australian television in the early 2000s.
In the United States, Carpani appeared in several notable series, including NCIS: Los Angeles, The Glades, If There Be Thorns, and The Rachels. She also starred in Lifetime’s police drama Against the Wall, alongside Jason George and Marisa Ramirez.
Beyond her screen work, Carpani was known for maintaining close ties with her family. One of her final social media posts, shared in November, was a heartfelt tribute to her mother on her birthday, reflecting the warmth and humor she often shared publicly.
Tributes from fans and colleagues have begun to surface online, remembering Carpani for both her performances and her presence off-screen. Her family has said they will make no further statements as they grieve her loss.
