Andy Dick found unresponsive in Hollywood as reports describe public overdose
Andy Dick was found unresponsive in Hollywood, TMZ reported apparent overdose before representative said he was fine

Actor and comedian Andy Dick was found unresponsive in Hollywood on December 9, with photos published by TMZ showing him slumped over on a set of steps with his glasses on the ground.
According to the outlet, bystanders attempted to wake him before emergency services were called. The Los Angeles Police Department responded and Narcan was reportedly requested and administered at the scene. Dick, 59, was not transported to hospital.
Later that day, TMZ reported that Dick confirmed by phone that he was alive and doing well, though he did not provide further details. Dick’s representative told the National Enquirer that the comedian was “fine” and stated that the incident occurred while filming part of a documentary and a livestream. According to the representative, “He was just drinking heavily and fell asleep.”
Dick is widely known for his roles in Zoolander and the sitcom NewsRadio and has previously spoken publicly about his history of substance abuse and time spent in rehabilitation programmes.
In a subsequent interview with TMZ, Dick addressed the incident directly, telling the cameraman, “Doesn’t it look like I’m 100% fine? A hundred and 10 percent.” Dick claimed he had encountered “a guy that was my age” on the sidewalk and alleged that the individual produced “crack.” He added, “I wanted to see what he was doing. And also, I don’t mind doing a little crack every now and then.”
A friend beside Dick in the interview said he had run to obtain Narcan during the incident and had been livestreaming at the time.
Dick’s representative Trevor Simms reiterated to USA TODAY that the actor was fine and encouraged viewers to watch his film T Bird, which is currently streaming.
Authorities did not confirm additional details, citing confidentiality requirements.
